HIGHLIGHTS, Feb. 21, County Commissioner Meeting

1) Elaine Brett and Susie Kaldis Lowe, representing the North Fork Valley Creative Coalition and the Town of Paonia, received a letter of support from the Commissioners for inclusion in a grant application for Governor Hickenlooper’s “Space to Create Colorado” project. This state-driven initiative would fund affordable housing, building renovation and workspace development for artists and their families. Ridgeway, Colorado is the second community to be included in a new state program. http://www.forbes.com/…/why-the-coolest-town-youve-never-…/…

2) The Commissioners approved changes to the specific development and subdivision regulations as recommended by the Planning Commission and Area Planning Committees. Major changes: a separation of the regulations from the Master Plan as a regulatory document making the Master Plan a guiding document; and a directive to bring the Planning Commission and applicable Area Planning Committee together to discuss an application, shortening the application process.

3) The Commissioners approved Ultimate Skydiving Adventures, LLC’s permit request to operate a commercial skydiving operation from a hanger at Blake Field. https://www.facebook.com/ultimateskydivingadventures/photos/a.1736322366393625.1073741828.1632737613418768/1736322096393652/?type=3&theater
